Description: Very romantic for the self
and others.
Review Date: JUN-02
These love poems are very romantic for the self
and others. The poems were written with love in mind which makes
one feel as though they were written personally towards the reader.
Avenel Grace has a special talent when it comes to emotionally
based poems but unlike the cheesy love poems you may read in other
books. Avenel's 'Loving Thoughts for You' is a genuine poetry book
of honesty that every age will enjoy reading over and over again.
This is one publication that should be in everyone's book
collection to treasure for years to come.
Dharma the Cat - Written by David Lourie.
Illustrations by Ted Blackwell
Dharma the cat is a philosophy book aimed at the
comical side of Buddhism life. Written by Simon and Schuster and
drawn by David Lourie and Ted Blackwell this book would aim for the
late teens and upwards although most would appeal to the cuteness
within the pages. Dharma is the cat, who watches over his young
master Bohdi (a monk in training) on his spiritual journey to
Nirvana (enlightenment). With light humor this book delivers clear
and simple messages that most age groups would understand such as
"It's easy to be tolerant when nothing is bugging you" and other
philosophical phrases. With such delightful cartoons and educated
phrases this book could well replace the Book of Geneses in years
to come.
I Am Moderately Fond Of Australia - Phil
Somerville
Star Rating:
Description: Intelligent
humour.
Review Date: JUN-02
At first glance people may feel that this book is
directed at only Aussie humour but a closer look will reveal that
this book is directed to all types of audiences. The Author of this
book Phil Somerville has had work published in The Bulletin,
Penthouse, Good Weekend and still currently has work published in
The Sydney Morning Herald. This book would most likely appeal to
readers in their late teens and upwards. The sharp and funny wit of
this book will have anyone in stiches. The cartoon work is
brilliant and very creative. Phil Somerville is humour is primarily
base on modern social issues and a touch of political propaganda. I
recommend this book to anyone who needs a dose of intelligent
humour to brighten ones life.
