Step One -
Logon To Your Computer In Safe Mode
Safe mode lets you make changes to
your computer in a controlled environment. To logon in safe mode, click
"F8" when you turn on your computer. Then go to "Safe
Mode" on the menu and hit enter.
Step Two - Download
Windows Defender and Clear Unknown Startup Programs
Windows Defender is a free spyware
protection program from Microsoft. Download and run Windows Defender. Once you
have run the program, launch the Windows Defender application from your "Start
Menu". Click on "Tools", then "Software Explorer". Under
"Startup Programs" remove any program that is not from Microsoft or some other
recognized company. For example, you might see a software program called
"sysguard.exe". Remove this software immediately.
Download
Windows Defender (Verify Web Address Before Downloading)
After you have completed this step,
restart your computer in "Safe Mode". This step should allow you to
navigate in windows enough to complete the remaining steps.
Step Three - Download
and Run SuperAntiSpyware
SuperAntiSpyware removes a large number of viruses, malware and spyware from your
computer. Once you have downloaded the software, run a full computer scan.
This program comes in free and professional editions. The free addition works
fine, but if the program helps, please consider donating to the company.

SuperAntiSpyware (Verify Web Address Before Downloading)
Very Important: Make
sure to perform this step before you perform Step Four. Many malware programs
include a virus that blocks the software program in Step Four from launching so you can't
fix your virus/malware program. SuperAntiSpyware will remove those viruses.
Step Four - Download and Run Malware Bytes
Malware Bytes removes the nastiest
of malware and viruses from your computer. The program comes in free and full
editions. Again, the free addition works fine, but if the program helps, please
consider donating to the company. Malware Bytes fixes the following virus and
malware related problems:
- Viruses that hijack your browser and
redirect you to fake virus protection sites.
- The "System Restore"
"Next" Button does not work.
-
http://browser-security.microsoft.com/block.php fake Yahoo and
Google search results redirects. This virus redirects you to fake virus
removal companies from Yahoo and Google search listings.
Very Important: If
you have the above virus and you click a link in Google or Yahoo search results, please
verify the actual web address in your browser to make sure you are at a valid site.
For example, if you search for Malware Bytes in Google and you have the above virus, the
virus will redirect you to a fake Malware site in an attempt to obtain your credit card
information.
- Spyware Protect 2009 Removal fake virus
protection software
- Sysguard.exe fake virus protection
and removal program.
- Many other nasty viruses and malware
programs.
Very Important: If
you have a virus on your computer, never give out your personal or credit card information
to any unknown source.
Download Malware Bytes (Verify Web Address Before
Downloading)
Very
Important: If Malware Bytes still won't open, go to C:\Program
Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\ on your computer. Right click on
"mbam.exe" and change the name. Then double click on the file.
Also, if you are still having problems running
"Windows Restore" after you have completed scanning your computer with Malware
Bytes, go to your "Desktop" and right click on the "My Computer" icon
to open "Properties". Then turn off "Windows Restore" and
restart your computer. After Windows has rebooted, go back to "My
Computer" and turn on "Windows Restore". This should fix your restore
problem. However, you will not be able to go back to any of your restore points once
you turn restore off.
After
you have completed these steps, your computer should be free from all viruses, Malware,
Spyware and other malicious and harmful computer programs. We recommend that you run
a full scan of your computer using SuperAntiSpyware and Malware Bytes once a month.
Note: Windows Defender will automatically scan for viruses.
